The Electric Board of Guntersville wants you to know that we appreciate your patience as we worked with reduced staff while the lobby was closed the last several weeks. We are currently making plans to safely reopen our lobby, and are looking forward to seeing our customers again. We also appreciate the timely payments we have received from the majority of our customers despite the economic hardships that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to our community. It is our hope that the government aid that has been provided, along with the reopening of the economy, will begin to ease some of the financial strain caused by this crisis.
Over the last two months, we have communicated several times that we would handle our COVID-19 responses on a week-by-week and case-by-case basis. We have used multiple outlets to encourage customer communication with our department concerning accounts that would be subject for disconnection. We would like to thank all of the customers who called and patiently waited through longer-than-average hold times to discuss the options available for their individual accounts. We appreciate the proactive actions that many customers have taken by either making payments or setting up a payment arrangement. We want to stress that we are here for you, and we strongly encourage you to call our office to discuss your account as soon as possible. Beginning on June 1st, The Electric Board of Guntersville will resume normal procedures regarding accounts subject for disconnection due to non-payment. Please call the office at 256-582-5691 to make a payment, make a payment arrangement, or to discuss FlexPlan, our pre-pay option.
